About Fygg Varnish
Fygg's dental varnish is an innovative, toxin-free alternative to conventional fluoride varnish. Formulated with hydroxyapatite - a naturally-occurring mineral that effectively remineralizes teeth. Fygg's professional strength varnish offers a highly effective, biomimetic treatment without the unnecessary additives, fillers, and systemic concerns.
Fygg's varnish is designed to establish sustained contact with teeth, imparting acid-resistant minerals on tooth surfaces for up to 24 hours, thereby alleviating dental hypersensitivity. Our treatment is not only easy but also practical - necessitating 'toothbrush clean' dental hygiene without complicated prerequisites, functioning seamlessly even in the presence of plaque.
Our extended-release dental varnish delivers remarkable remineralization results with a blend of nano and micro Hydroxyapatite. The varnish is virtually unnoticeable once applied, leaving behind a temporary thin film indicative of its continuous action.

Hydroxyapatite Concentration in Fygg
Choosing Fygg nano-HAp varnish over a traditional fluoride varnish is preferred by many providers and patients due to its science-backed properties, clean ingredients, and microbiome support, all while still maintaining comparable efficacy in terms of remineralization, desensitization, and whitening.
Fygg nano-HAp uses 15.5% nanoXIM at 57.34% concentration (8.6% nano-HAP), using what is currently the only form of nano-Hydroxyapatite (nanoXIM.CarePaste manufactured by Fluidinova) currently approved by the SCCS in Europe for safety and efficacy.
For dentists seeking to provide the safest, most effective, biomimetic, and oral microbiome-supportive dental care to patients of all ages, Fygg nano-HAp varnish can be a beneficial addition to your dental practice, giving patients options for optimal oral health.

Yes! The appropriate concentrations and types of nano-Hydroxyapatite in Fygg varnish can be as effective in supporting remineralization, reducing tooth demineralization, and helping with sensitivity as fluoride varnishes. Several studies have shown that nano-Hydroxyapatite has similar or better efficacy as fluoride in remineralizing early carious lesions, preventing dental caries formation, and helping with sensitivity.

With prebiotic fiber and L-Arginine, Fygg nano-Hydroxyapatite actively nourishes the oral microbiome, not destroying it as many other products do. The prebiotic fiber in the formula will feed and nourish the beneficial bacteria in the mouth. L-arginine has shown to elevate dental plaque pH, inhibit biofilm formation, and destabilize biofilm structure.
Also, with the elimination of unnecessary oral microbiome disruptors, emulsifiers, surfactants, artificial flavors and sweeteners, hexanes and propylene glycol derivatives, and excessive essential oils, Fygg supports commensal and beneficial bacteria, allowing them to thrive!

Fygg nano-Hydroxyapatite varnish is applied similarly to fluoride varnish. The varnish is painted onto the tooth surface using a brush, a cotton swab, or a gloved finger, typically after a dental cleaning. The process is quick and easy. Of note, Fygg varnish has a much more subtle taste and texture compared to the strong, astringent taste and overwhelming texture of fluoride varnishes.
Those with extensive decay, especially smooth surface or root caries, orthodontic white spots lesions, or chronic tooth sensitivity may benefit from at-home use in custom trays.

On January 1st, 2024 a new CDT Code launched (D2991) which is the application of hydroxyapatite regenerative medicament per tooth. Coverage may vary depending on your specific insurance plan.
We recommend contacting your insurance provider to encourage coverage. Similar to silver diamine fluoride, new procedures often take time to be adopted. If you need a templated letter, Fygg has one available. Please email darcy@fygg.com. We’re working diligently to get hydroxyapatite varnish covered in all dental offices and under all insurance plans soon.
