Have a Question?

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions about the Fygg Varnish

Fygg nano-HAp varnish is as effective as a fluoride varnish in terms of remineralization and desensitization. Due to its science-backed properties, clean ingredients, and microbiome support, it is preferred by many providers and patients.

Fygg varnish contains 57.3% nanoXIM CarePaste, a water-based solution with 15.5% nano-HAp, bringing the active nano-HAp concentration to 8.6%. The percentage of nano-HAp to use depends on the source of nano-HAp. The higher the quality of nano-HAp, the higher quality the particles, and less you need to use for it to be efficacious.

Yes, Fygg nano-Hydroxyapatite varnish can promote remineralization, prevent tooth demineralization and help with sensitivity in people of all ages. Please touch base with your dental team on whether it could be a good fit for you.

Fygg Varnish can be brushed with daily, either as a replacement for your regular toothpaste until symptoms resolve, OR mixed into your routine every few days or so. Another way to use Fygg Professional Varnish is in trays for longer contact time and faster results. You can either add a small strip or dots in trays. Spot apply to areas of concern with a cotton swab or micro brush or on floss. For more details on how to apply, click 'Instructions' above!

Because the varnish has about 3x the hydroxyapatite as the toothpaste, it can be more quickly effective at addressing the below issues. However, both products can still be useful in addressing the above concerns. It can be helpful to think of the varnish as being particularly valuable when having a more acute issue of sensitivity or early stage cavity need and the toothpaste as more of a long-term oral microbiome - and therefore tooth health - supportive tool.

Fygg Professional Varnish can be used for the following issues:

✔️Sensitivity
✔️Remineralizing and desensitizing areas of gum recession
✔️Demineralization
✔️Hypoplastic teeth
✔️Prevention while in orthodontic treatment

Those with demineralization, incipient or early decay (particularly smooth surface or root caries), orthodontic appliances and hardware, orthodontic white spots lesions, areas of chronic tooth sensitivity, hypoplastic enamel, or those wanting an occasional ""boost' for prevention can benefit from at-home use applied directly to the areas of concern or in custom trays. For more details, click the drop down 'Instructions' above!

On January 1st, 2024 a new CDT Code launched (D2991) which is the application of hydroxyapatite regenerative medicament per tooth. Coverage may vary depending on your specific insurance plan.

We recommend contacting your insurance provider to encourage coverage. Similar to silver diamine fluoride, new procedures often take time to be adopted. If you need a templated letter, Fygg has one available. Please email wholesale@fygg.com. We’re working diligently to get hydroxyapatite varnish covered in all dental offices and under all insurance plans soon.

Yes! At Fygg, we take safety seriously, and third-party testing is a core part of our commitment to transparency. Our products undergo frequent independent third-party testing to ensure it meets the highest standards for safety and compliance. We closely monitor and adhere to oral healthcare products and cosmetics safety standards.

Our heavy metals COAs confirm that Fygg’s Heavy Metal levels are far below even the strictest safety thresholds, including California’s Proposition 65 (Prop 65) limits. Our Heavy Metals COA results are in ppm and conversions to Prop 65 standards can be found HERE.

Some brands do not test for heavy metals and many do not publicly share their results. At Fygg, we believe in transparency—we want you to feel confident in the safety of what you and your family use daily.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out—we’re always happy to share more.

“Our practice really loves Fygg toothpaste and varnish! Very few oral hygiene products impress me, after 40 years in practice and these products do. They are truly clinically effective. When selecting nano-Hydroxyapatite products to recommend, sourcing of ingredients MATTERS. Fygg products are one of the few containing “NanoXIM” - it is safe and effective”

“We’ve incorporated Fygg varnish into our remineralization protocol. We avoid products with fluoride because they seal in the white spots. We’ve seen great results for the treatment of white spot lesions by having our patient buy a tube of Fygg varnish and apply it to the inside of their retainers and wear nightly. Beyond impressed by the results!”

Reviews

I was having horrible tooth

"I was having horrible tooth pain. I was told I likely need a root canal. Even using my vibration plate or running made the tooth hurt. I used the varnish once and that pain has stopped. I can’t believe it. I’ve used it a few times now and so far, no pain. I am also using their toothpaste and their probiotic chewable as well. I’m very impressed. I also had a slight discoloration on my front two teeth and I use the varnish and then used a little tooth tray to hold it in. My teeth look whiter and that spot looks so much better already. I’ve only owned it for a week!!!! This is an honest and true review. I’ve told so many people about this brand since I can see and feel the difference."

Barbara D. (5/5)

"It has been a noticeable improvement in the way my mouth “feels”, and my teeth are so smooth! I know it will only get better."

Joy S. (5/5)

Teeth feel cleaner and whiter.

"Teeth feel cleaner and whiter. My red spots between my gums have vanished."

Tessa R. (5/5)

Would give it 0 starts if I could

"I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Fygg. Honestly, if I could give 0 stars, I would. After using their toothpaste for some time, both myself and multiple family members developed reactions including itching, redness, irritation around the face and lips, and general discomfort. Once we stopped using the toothpaste, the symptoms completely went away and have not returned since, which made it very obvious the toothpaste was causing the issue. I contacted the company directly by email on May 10 to explain the situation and request a refund. After getting completely ignored, I submitted another message through their website contact form on May 13. It is now May 15 and I still have not received a single response, acknowledgment, or attempt to help. The worst part is not only the reaction we experienced from the product, but the total lack of customer service afterward. When customers are reporting health concerns involving products used by an entire family, the bare minimum should be responding to the message instead of ignoring it. We ended up throwing away all remaining toothpaste because we did not feel safe continuing to use it. Very frustrating experience overall and extremely disappointing customer support. I would not recommend this company based on how this situation was handled."

my teeth are finally doing

"my teeth are finally doing well. It lasts me a long time, and i have 3 so please delay my next shipment for a year or 2"

m k. (5/5)

Seems to be working on my thin enamel

"I am finishing up my 1st tube of varnish. I love the mild sweet mint flavor. I bought clear moldable tooth trays from amazon and I put a generous amount of varnish in the trays and keep it on my teeth overnight. All my molars are crowned so I only have to treat my non molars. I have rather thin enamel and I am seeing a difference especially at the gum line where I have some demineralization. Just purchased 3 tubes. It is cheaper than the dentist!"

MW (5/5)

I tried it once having

"I tried it once having difficulty finding trays so I can do a better treatment. I don’t order off Amazon. My teeth felt cleaner."

Donne H. (5/5)

I like that this toothpaste

"I like that this toothpaste has nanotechnology hydroxyapatite. And I really like that the mint flavor is like a mint meltaway, mint +chocolate."

Lisa B. (5/5)

I was stunned to see

"I was stunned to see the very small quantity for a very hefty price. Especially when you photograph it next to your regular sized toothpaste."
